Vocational qualification: accreditation criteria
RoofCERT accreditation is currently available to skilled roofers who have a relevant vocational qualification (NVQ/SVQ) and 3+ years experience.
A technical knowledge test must be taken—either online or face-to-face at a RoofCERT Regional Training Centre. Currently we are offering one fully funded test per operative which includes admin, revision materials and certification.
Finally to gain accreditation, six mandatory health and safety courses must have been completed by each operative, covering the following topics:
- ☑ Asbestos awareness
- ☑ Working at heights
- ☑ Manual handling
- ☑ First aid
- ☑ Fire safety
- ☑ Abrasive wheels
Then it’s just a matter of uploading the necessary certificates to the RoofCERT system, as proof of competency and knowledge, which then get independently reviewed. If everything is in order, accreditation is awarded! This review process and issue of your RoofCERT certificate is also currently full funded.
