Rio Asphalt and Paving Co Ltd has always been at the forefront of training and having investigated the RoofCERT scheme we decided that this was the best recognised qualification available. RoofCERT pulls together all aspects of our current training programmes and in time will be recognised as the industry standard—being the highest level accreditation for roofing professionals. Achieving RoofCERT certification, means that our operatives have been recognised as being the best in the business and it is to be welcomed as it confirms our training arrangements to provide a recognised professional standard.
RoofCERT is a necessary industry initiative, as we need to build perceptions of roofers as professional people who take pride in their work and have the skills to carry it out to high standards. We want our operatives and installers up-to-date with the industry standards. It's a step forward to professional standards and will set them apart from those who cheat and carry out shoddy roofing works.
I put my team through RoofCERT to help increase the professionalism of the industry, to ensure we are still top of the tree as a company and enhance the employability of our team. A lot of our guys have worked with us for most of their working lives and are good at what they do but they just needed that extra accreditation—RoofCERT gives them that. The whole process of accreditation has been excellent and I would highly recommend it.
